The main goal of the project is to design a word class e-commerce platform that allows users shop seamlessly and with the best experience possible. Gracelifemedimart provides a platform for users (manufacturers, retailers, suppliers) to be able to come together and do business without needing to source for contacts. The web application is available already and the mobile application is currently in the works for both Android OS and iOS.
The main challenge faced in this project was coming up with a business plan to ensure that Gracelife Medimart provides a platform for users (manufacturers, retailers, suppliers) to be able to come together and do business without needing to source for contacts.
It was important to give the website a minimalistic and simple look as this helps the users better navigate through the site with ease. We wanted to make it as easy as possible for users on the website to make purchases without any assistance whatsoever and in the fastest way possible. So we integrated popup forms, one click checkout with Paypal, one click login and sign up forms etc, in order to retain users on the site and ultimately get them to make purchases without hassle.
The website is fully responsive and it improves the user experience and it was considered a major factor before embarking on the project, The quality of User experience evidently determines the amount of time users spend on the site, so it was necessary to make it responsive to every possible media screen.
Another major factor considered was the average load time, A research showed that 53% of mobile visitors will abandon a site if pages take longer than three seconds to load. Also, websites with less load time benefit from more time spent on the site as well as improved conversion rates more time a page spends to load Google showed that the less time. With this in mind, the load time of the site was closely thought through as pages, plugins, posts were being created. Various revisions and compressions were done to maintain the three seconds average load time to ensure more than average compliance with Google Page speed.
Necessary keywords were used to ensure a decent ranking in medimart and medical niches.
Getting the site up and running within the project deadline and ensuring the website followed all PCI standards, was as secure as possible. Ensuring that the website’s load time was low to prevent bounce rates.
